A hundred metres from the Serpette market, inside a fully restored former military hospice, MOB House is the most unexpected hotel in northern Paris. Designed by Philippe Starck alongside Cyril Aouizerate — co-founder of Mama Shelter — and Michel Reybier, it opened in January 2022 with a clear philosophy: no TV, no room service, no slippers. Instead: raw materials, a bar curated by a world-class mixologist, and a bio-organic kitchen helmed by a two-Michelin-star chef.
For visitors coming to the Adidas Arena who want to skip the standard chain hotels, MOB House is a 23-minute ride away — with bus 85 stopping directly outside the front door.

Philippe Starck, Raw Materials and Brooklyn-on-Seine

From the street, the building looks nothing like a hotel. You enter through a brick-paved courtyard dotted with small wrought-iron balconies — an industrial-artisan atmosphere that feels closer to Brooklyn or Buenos Aires than Paris. That’s entirely intentional: Starck built contradiction into the DNA of the place.
Room materials celebrate forgotten craft traditions: rice-straw headboards, handmade Beaujolais tiles on some walls, clay plaster instead of acrylic paint. No standardised furniture — all storage was built to measure. A few Starck-designed chairs scattered throughout, as a quiet signature.
Rooms work in a 3-in-1 format: sliding curtains and wooden panels divide the sleeping area, desk and meeting zone. Lighting rigs are adjustable to suit work or rest. No television — and the Wi-Fi is among the fastest recorded in any Paris hotel.

Feuille de Chou and the Bar — Two Destinations in One
Feuille de Chou is a 200-cover organic brasserie whose plant-forward menu is signed by Jérôme Banctel, a two-Michelin-star chef. Produce is sourced from French local supply chains. Breakfast buffet is served each morning — charged separately.
The bar, sharing the same open space, runs a cocktail list by Nicolas de Soto, a Franco-New York mixologist with serious credentials. Some spirits are infused on site. On the terrace or by the heated pool in summer, it’s one of the best post-show spots in northern Paris.

Saint-Ouen Flea Market — The Context That Makes This Hotel Unique

MOB House sits 5 minutes on foot from the entrance to the Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen — Vernaison, Serpette, Paul Bert, Biron. The world’s largest antiques market and the 5th most visited site in France, open on weekends. For a stay combining Saturday morning at the flea market with an evening concert or match, this is the most logical base in the area.
The neighbourhood has changed significantly since the line 14 metro extension opened at Mairie de Saint-Ouen (2022). Mains d’Œuvres — a concert venue and artist residency — is two minutes away. The Karlito restaurant at the adjacent MOB Hotel (4-6 rue Gambetta) serves organic pizza and salads on a terrace at the weekend.
